Tearful Reunion Between Woman And Her Stolen Husky After Two Years Apart

When a stolen Husky was reunited with his family two years after he went missing, there were lots of happy tears shed. Semper the Siberian Husky was reunited with his mother, Kameroun Mares, after a long and exhausting journey home. When Kameroun Mares adopted Semper as a puppy, she was undergoing chemotherapy for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She named him Semper Fidelis, which means “always faithful” in Latin, but the unexpected happened to her during the therapy.

Kameroun moved to California from Florida, leaving Semper in the care of her roommate at the time. However, she heard word that Semper had gone missing while she was out. She looked everywhere, but he was nowhere to be seen. Even though she was living in California, she kept searching, posting on the internet and calling rescues and shelters all across Florida. Semper had a microchip, so she hoped someone would discover him and scan him. She sought more assistance from Ana Campos, a private investigator. That’s when Campos discovered something unusual. Semper had been registered with AKC Reunite, a service linked to his microchip, by Kameroun.

“After a year, someone suggested that she [Kameroun] double-check her AKC Reunite chip. So, she went to the humane society, and they checked online.” That’s when she realized that a woman had added her name to Semper’s chip a year before,” Campos told The Dodo. The other microchip manufacturer didn’t bother to look to see if Semper’s chip already had a registered owner. Campos investigated deeper and discovered that Semper had been listed on Craigslist for $200. Kameroun had never discovered him because he had been “flipped.” Kameroun’s roommate, according to Campos, was the one who sold Semper. Campos stated on Facebook, “He was stolen and sold by her roommate two and a half years ago.”

Following the hiring of a lawyer, a judge found in Kameroun’s favor, and Semper was rescued from the person who had purchased him and returned to Kameroun. Kameroun was set to be reunited with Semper after 2.5 years of searching and trying to find him. Here’s a video of the touching scene. Semper, according to Kameroun, recalls the commands she taught him and is fitting in well in his new California home. Kameroun explained, “I regard him as an extension of myself and my heart.” “I’m relieved to have him back in my arms again.” Have a look at the touching video for more, let us know your thoughts and do not forget to spread out the story on social media.
